[about]
Danielle Xu is 2024 graduate from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Textiles and Apparel Design. She is a big cinephile, lover of dancing, and colorful fashion.
Her biggest inspiration is her mother who, despite facing hardships as a Chinese immigrant, found happiness through fashion and styling her daughter. Her excitement for clothing inspired Danielle and all she wants is to one day design pieces that induce the same joy in others as it did for her mother.
As of now, she has accumulated experience in programs such as Fusion360, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator through academic projects in collaboration with brands like Kendra Scott. She has interned with former project runway contestant Brittany Allen where she focused on athleisure technical design and an internship with NICÓ as a fashion design intern for couture evening gowns. She has also worked as a women's design intern at the global fashion company, Calvin Klein. Through her internships, Danielle's garment construction skills have become more efficient and she's developed a better understanding of the design to garment to market process. Danielle is currently looking for an internship opportunity that will challenge her creativity, expand collaborative and leadership skills while also giving new insights into the fashion industry.
